Odawara Flower Garden
Located in Odawara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, “Odawara Flower Garden” is a hidden gem known for its beautiful plum blossoms. The annual “Plum Festival,” held from late January to early March, showcases around 300 varieties and 500 plum trees, creating a breathtaking landscape.
Plum Blossom Status on the Day of Visit
The Plum Festival runs from January 25 to March 2. I visited on February 20, slightly before the peak bloom. However, some trees were already in full bloom, while many others had just started to bud, giving a glimpse of spring’s arrival. The early-blooming plum trees were particularly vibrant, and their sweet fragrance filled the air.

A dedicated area offers seating to enjoy weeping plum trees up close.
The gentle sound of the stream and the fragrance of the blossoms provide a refreshing experience.

The garden also features the “Tropical Dome Greenhouse,” where visitors can see tropical plants like bananas and papayas up close. Admission is 200 yen for adults and 100 yen for elementary and junior high school students. This area offers a different atmosphere from the plum garden and is worth visiting if time permits.
